I just postet the subsequent message in this thread of the Doom9. It was deleted within seconds and without any comment.
| Quote: | | I don't think he's banned, at least I remember him posting after the ban I recall him receiving. He probably just got bored of the D9 forum and decided to set up his own. |
I was never bored by this forum. I was temporarily locked out, because I violated some absurd forum rules. I wouldn't care about such foolish rules, if they would not be enforced by the moderators. Actually, there is only one moderator, the one and only neurotic2, who does this. He obviously even uses the forum's search function to find any instances of the word best, in order to punish the users of this forbidden word. I would recommend to use the even stronger word definitive instead. If it would be outlawed as well, then the Doom9 forum would have to punish itself, because it claims to be The definitive DVD backup resource.
Thus, I decided to stay away from then Doom9 forum as long as this antitolerant egomaniac is a Doom9 moderator and there are quite a few people who do the same.
His character is also nicely exhibited by his DGIndex software. All the hard word, especially the superb mpeg2 decoding code, was taken from the outstanding DVD2AVI and from MPEG2DEC3. He could have easily used a new ending for his index files and new names for the Avisynth filters such that all programs could coexist peaceful. Especially, because neurotic2 likes to put his initials DG wherever he can. He even demanded from Leak to change the name of his improved deinterlacer to avoid a similar conflict. Nevertheless, the famous brandmark DG was only omitted, when it would allow peaceful coexistence with the preceeding programs - a very, very grateful behavior. I recommend to change the GPL to prevent such gratefulness.

When doom9 created megui, he subsequently hijacked every thread about h264 gui's claiming that all creaters should cease creating their own gui's and work with him on megui. He clearly broke rules 4,5,8 and 11 on his own forum.
Of course, my response was not welcomed.
However I did receive this.
| Quote: | administrator trolls on HA and Doom9
1st, I ask you to treat this message confidentially!.
On Doom9, just like on HA, Administrators and Moderator are partly trolls.
For example, when trying to talk about the AVI container, Koepi usually jumped in and sabotaged the discussion with his OGM bullshit, and when telling him this, he used rule 4. Usually, he did that while Doom9 was away, p.e. on holidays, because he knew Doom9 would have had to censor his behaviour. Doom9 admitted twice that Koepi behaved like this he was away, and yet look at the moderators of some forums... koepi is still there.
Neuron2 has proven to be a troll as well, he starts crying when someone makes a bug reports about his software. Of course, i don't speak about useless posts like 'your stuff sucks', I speak about simple reports concerning bugs or inconveniences in a GUI that could be improved, totally normal suggestions.
On HA, the main troll is "zZzZzZz" or something, an OMG zealot of the same kind as Koepi.
Doom9 is a place where trolls rule against an administrator who is too stubborn to decide that nominating certain moderators was an error, and too stubborn to undo these errors. |
I stopped posting regularly a while ago. Everyone seems more interested in moderation than discussion. |

What is the HA forum? I'm not insider enough to know it.
Interesting stories!
I have similar views about moderators. Compared with the average moderators are more likely people, who like to rule over others. This is only an increased likelyhood. Most moderators are in fact nice guys and not trolls. However, as they are not getting paid for it, a few moderators love to be rewarded by some - very limited - power over other people and use this power as often as possible. Neuron2 is certainly such a guy and the rule "to ask not for the best" is a great rule to harass forum users. As far as I know this absurd rule is unique to doom9 and neuron2 is the only doom9 moderator who enforces this nonsense.
I don't like to be a moderator, because you have to scan frequently through postings, in which you are not interested. Also I don't like to rule over others and I don't like others to rule over me. Fortunately this forum is very small and I keep regulation as low as possible. Currently you need not even be a registered user to post here. |

The audio equivalent of doom9 I guess you could say.
I'm glad DG isn't a censor. TV, movies, music and the internet would be oh so bland. |

Thank you. I have heart about hydrogenaudio before, but probably was never there. Though I did hack avi2wav a tiny little bit, I was never really involved in audio processing from a programers perspective. Thus for me the doom9 audio section was enough. |
